Written in the Stars - Week of March 13

Saturn in Sagittarius — When the planet of limitations and maturity enters the sign of the joyful wanderer, the positive becomes practical. Our vision may constrict or become more limited, yet we’re freed by our willingness to “play by the rules.” Play on!

ARIES

March 21 — April 19
What are you studying now, Aries? What aspect of yourself, or of life, are you currently honing? Does it serve you? Does it excite you? Saturn has moved into your House of Philosophy, demanding that you both question and solidify your ideals. It’s a good time to become involved in a new study or pursuit, or to be sure that the path you’re on still fits your long-term goals. If you feel like you’re off-path, it’s a great time to reset your course. An opportunity to share this knowledge with a wide audience is forecast, so take your time.

TAURUS
April 20 — May 20
You would love to be the sole arbiter of your life, huh, Taurus? Things would be so much simpler if you could control more than just yourself — but the taskmaster planet Saturn is forcing you to look at the way the external world affects you. He’s moved into your House of Resources — so your attachments (partners, addictions, debts) are getting a long, hard look. What do you desire? What attachments in your life are healthy, or unhealthy? Expect pressure from sectors of your life that need attention, and listen. Positive change is forecast.

GEMINI
May 21 — June 21
If our partners are mirrors, Gemini, what do yours say about you? Saturn, the planet of growing up and learning harsh lessons, has moved into your House of Partnerships, demanding that you focus on the people closest to you. If any relationship is built on a weak foundation, you could feel the cracks beneath your feet now. It’s your choice to demolish any that seem dangerous to inhabit, or to roll up your sleeves and start strengthening them. Regardless, change, compromise and maturity are called for. Work toward a happier future.

CANCER
June 22 — July 22
Does your daily life support you, Cancer? Not comfort you or please you, but support you, in your growth and happiness? Saturn has moved into your House of Health and Routine, putting your daily life under a microscope to make you acutely aware of how you’ve been handling things so far. Have you managed your time wisely? Handled responsibilities promptly? If you need to rearrange your workload or methods, Saturn is assisting you in seeing where changes could be made. Take time to organize and prioritize this week.

LEO
July 23 — Aug. 22
Have you worked hard enough to justify playing hard, Leo? And how is your ego feeling these days? Saturn has moved into your House of Creativity and Romance, bringing lessons about your need for attention, applause and ego strokes, so you may experience some slow-downs or limitations. It’s not that you’ll be neglected, but Saturn asks that you tap the deep well of love and joy within yourself, before others. It’s time to cultivate yourself and take pride in who you are, and even more powerful loves and joys will follow. Ready to work hard?

VIRGO
Aug. 23 — Sept. 22
No one knows brass tacks like you, Virgo, and it’s time to get down to them. Saturn is surveying your House of Home, demanding that you take a long, hard look at your foundations. Sure, some of you may deal with this on a material level too, but there is a definite internal spring cleaning required now. What were you taught as child — for better and for worse — about limitations, responsibilities and structure? If you experience frustration now, let it fuel your desire to build a better foundation under yourself. You’ll want it for the upcoming takeoff.

LIBRA
Sept. 23 — Oct. 22
Are you feeling the pressure, Libra, to “make your ideas work”? Saturn has posted camp in your House of Communications, demanding that you quit the chatter and focus on “making something” of your words. If you’re feeling the need to institute a new schedule or routine in order to better train or cultivate yourself, don’t hesitate. Saturn foretells that you could create or enhance a form of communication that could affect the world — or alternatively, make you feel more effective in it. Stop thinking — put your skills to the test.

SCORPIO
Oct. 23 — Nov. 21
Are you champing at the bit, Scorpio? Feeling delayed when you want to race forward? You can thank Saturn, who has moved into your House of Wealth and Resources — he’s putting the brakes on, forcing you to question your effectiveness in the world, as well as your “worth.” The planet of maturity isn’t punishing you — he’s asking you to find the connection between your self-worth and what you create in the outer world. Are you experiencing a smooth, equitable exchange, or getting the raw end of the deal? Saturn will sniff it out.

SAGITTARIUS
Nov. 22 — Dec. 21
As the explorer of the zodiac, Sagittarius, you may not see yourself as a very serious sort. Yet now, with somber Saturn taking up residence in your House of Personality, a new, more sober side of you may be showing itself. In some ways, this can be uncomfortable. Masks that used to fit feel tight, or gambits that used to shore up temporary boosts may leave you feeling more empty than before. Don’t be discouraged — Saturn is tempering your true inner strength and sense of self. You’ll come out stronger on the other side.

CAPRICORN
Dec. 22 — Jan. 19
Remember that heart-pounding, primal fear of the monster in the closet, Capricorn? The echoes may be rippling through you know as father-Saturn takes your hand and walks you inside to show you there’s nothing to be afraid of. You may sweat and shake as you reach out to touch shadows that turn out to be nothing but well-constructed memories, scarecrow fears you built to protect and defend yourself. However, they’ve long lost their purpose. You’re completing a cycle. Throw out the junk — keep only the shadows that deepen your light.

AQUARIUS
Jan. 20 — Feb. 18
You pride yourself on your egalitarian values, Aquarius. You can be friends with anyone, offer them compassion, or simply slip on a mask and adapt to whatever group you find yourself among. Yet now, you may find that the mask is slipping, or fits too tightly to let you breathe, let alone speak. Wizened Saturn has moved into your House of Groups and Associations, compelling you to cut out what seems superficial or alienating. Don’t be afraid to “get serious” about who you spend time with — they are reflections of you.

PISCES
Feb. 19 — March 20
You’re a rebel with a dream, Pisces, and you usually have no problem acting like the social outlier that you are. It’s one of your charms. However, with Saturn moving into your House of Career and Destiny, you’ll find that you do, despite all efforts to the contrary, have a place in society, and duties you must take up in order to grow. Consider this a mini astrological mid-life crisis. What have you built so far, and how much further would you like to go? Saturn will help you see where you’ve slipped, and where you can capitalize. Face yourself fully.
