Full Moon in Virgo - Like a "Virgin"
Moon Opposite Sun
Every full Moon is a scrying mirror waiting to be examined. What its depths reveal is unique to each who dares to look: intimate, illuminating, disturbing on the level that makes great art and shakes foundations ripe for demolition. The full Moon reminds us that "divine" is a verb, as well as a noun or adjective.
When the intuitive Moon shines in her full glory, she opposes her consort and counterpart, the shining Sun, creating tension between our internal needs and external expectations. If our emotions match our actions, and vice versa, we experience this energy as empowering, illuminating and evocative. Though we're likely to encounter challenges or emotional tensions leading up to the full Moon, especially those related to our past, those fossils are converted to the fuel that powers our ascension.
If we have attempted to bury our feelings, our intuition, issues with family or our past — all ruled by the inconstant Moon — we can experience tension today, a feeling of disconnectedness or emotional compulsion. Unpredictable reactions can bubble up from seemingly "out of nowhere" — which is always the deepest well of our feelings and memories.
At 12:30 p.m. CST on February 22,
the Moon shines in the sign of Virgo, the high-minded virgin, the
clear-eyed assessor, the humble servant, and truth-teller. Virgo is
devoted, detail-oriented, and always does her best to get things right.
This full Moon shines on the area in which the world needs your hard
work, your humble servitude. Are you ready to put your God/dess-given
talents to work?
In the spirit of Virgoan purity and meticulous attention to detail, let us remember that the word "virgin" has not always meant "one who has never had sex." In ancient Greece, priestesses were "virgins," the original meaning translating to "one-in-herself." A virgin was a respected maiden, an unmarried woman who had full governance over her body and sexuality. Virgin, then, did not mean pure of sexuality — it meant free from mental or physical tyranny. A virgin was a woman of strength, independence, and wisdom, and this is the aspect that the full Moon in Virgo evokes.

When
the full Moon in fastidious Virgo opposes the Sun in its opposite sign,
dreamy Pisces, we are asked to "sacrifice" (Pisces' realm of expertise)
our time and energy for the greater good. Pisces is the dreamer, poet,
and painter of the zodiac, where Virgo is the pragmatist, accountant,
and janitor. Under this energy we feel an intense, unconscious pull to
"get busy," to tie up loose ends, to put ourselves to work. But there is
an enormous difference between being busy and being productive,
and this is where Pisces' spiritual vision is key in channeling Virgo's
divine work ethic.
The Moon represents what we feel, and the Sun represents what we must do with what we feel. Therefore, we must be sure that we are not just busying our minds or bodies, but occupying our souls, committing to our life purpose.

The
planet of luck, growth, and fortune, Jupiter is also embracing the
North Node right now, the astrological point of our karmic destiny, our
life purpose. This incredibly fortunate, expansive energy only comes
around truly once-maybe-twice in a lifetime — about once every 36 years. This only increases our soul-deep desire to devote our time and effort to something worthwhile.
Meanwhile, charming Venus and mental Mercury have shacked up in mad scientist Aquarius, inspiring flashes of brilliance, beautiful ideas, and sudden solutions. Erratic Aquarius never provides the whole puzzle — only pieces, the better to force your mind to think creatively — so don't expect a fully-formed business plan, novel, or answer to materialize. Don't demand perfection — what is key is that you begin to honor your ideas by creating space for them in your life.
Everything doesn't need to be done in order, or perfectly (Virgo), in order to be worthwhile. Nothing can grow in an airtight, antiseptic space. Let things in the world be nebulous, messy, unfinished. Inside, your wheels will be turning, generating practical plans that will bring about spiritual solutions.

Today
especially, and over the next two weeks (until the next New Moon), it's
an ideal time to commit to a regular, quiet self-care routine, one that
provides the physical and emotional breathing room for inspiration to
rise.
The Full Moon has a reputation for a reason. The time of lunacy. Tensions rise, build, burgeon, and break. The Moon pulls the crashing waves over us. We can choose to heed Pisces' advice to dive deeply, past the waves, to see clearly — or suffer the futile chaos of observing the world from the superficial chop. Seeing everything that could be fixed, without ever perceiving the unity, the truth, even the beauty, of the imperfections that created us.
The South Node, the astrological point representing our past lessons, is also linking up with Chiron, the wounded healer. Some aspect of ourselves that was hurt in the past, or some wrong that was done to us, will likely become invaluable now, impossible as that may seem. Virgo wrote the book on "waste not, want not," and proclaims that every single sacrifice we've made, or altar that we have been sacrificed upon (there's Pisces again), has tempered and shaped our soul so that we may carry out the work that we came here to do.

Mars,
the planet of energy and action, is in driven, passionate Scorpio, who
always rips through artifice to devour the naked truth with piercing

wounds, transmuting them.

Written in the Stars - Week of February 15
Mars Sextile Jupiter
When the planet of energy and action engages with the planet of growth and expansion, new worlds of opportunity open up. We become more energetic, enterprising, and optimistic now, and therefore, initiatives we undertake tend to have favorable outcomes.
This is very fortunate, growth-oriented energy, so it's an ideal time to throw yourself into efforts that improve your life in any way. Nutrition and exercise routines, entrepreneurial pursuits, and educational opportunities all shine under this lucky aspect. This week, aim to create a bigger and better you. Your stars are smiling on your efforts.
ARIES
Keep working on yourself, Aries, because your stars say that your efforts are far from wasted. Your ruling planet, motivated Mars, is charging through your House of Intimacy and the Other for three more weeks before he moves on to wider, greener pastures, so you've got a little more time to lay the groundwork for a stellar journey. You've been going through an internal transformation, most likely catalyzed by an influential new partner or mentor — you're discovering exactly what you're made of, and ego conflicts could come up as a result. However, on the bright side, these kerfuffles are also opportunities to set healthy boundaries and claim your rightful space, or payment. Your stars are bringing you financial and spiritual opportunities this week, so it's an ideal time to put your energy into this aspect of yourself. Make plans to grow your income, improve or acquire shared resources, and transform yourself for the better. When Mars jets into your House of Journeys and Philosophy in March, you'll be ready for a new adventure.
TAURUS
It's often been said that the best foundation for every healthy relationship is honesty, Taurus. Have you been upfront with your closest partners (whether they be romantic, business, or creative cohorts) about your feelings? Mars, the planet of me, me, me, is charging through your House of Partnerships for three more weeks, stirring the pot and inviting conflict. This energy can cause upheaval and irritation, but lest we forget, conflict resolution is one of the most important, and even satisfying, growth-oriented aspects of any relationship. If you have been lax in holding up certain boundaries or expectations, or if you have fallen behind on meetings others' demands, now is the time to air grievances and take action to improve matters. Your stars forecast exciting opportunities when you open the lines of communication; fruitful dialogues are forecast.
GEMINI
Everything you create, Gemini, and everything you do, starts from inside you. Sounds simple, doesn't it? But do you begin every day caring for your mind and body with rigorous attention? A tree's branches are only as expansive and ambitious as its root system, and this week, you're advised to expand and improve your own. Mars, the planet of motivation and action, is riding through your House of Work and Routine for three more weeks, encouraging you to work on yourself from the ground up — the better to manifest your long-term goals. Your physical health and 9-to-5 job are highlighted under this energy, so it's an ideal time to roll up your sleeves and take care of errands, chores, and routines that demand your attention, and also enhance your physical health and vitality. Your stars are asking you to invest in yourself by taking care of business — great rewards are forecast for your conscious self-improvement.
CANCER
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, Cancer, but what about all play and no work? Mars, the planet of energy and action, is charging up your House of Creativity, Romance, and Play, showering your world with colorful sparks that distract you from the nuts and bolts of workaday concerns. Self-discipline could be in short supply right now, but inspiration and excitement are readily available! If you can manage to focus this bountiful, lucky energy, your creative and personal projects (this House also rules relationships with children, the ultimate personal creations) will get an enormous and fortunate boost now. Make time to share your ideas with others in order to get the support and focus you need to manifest your brilliant ideas. Or, at the very least, make time to write your epiphanies down before you move on to your next play date. Your stars forecast great ideas and inspiration.
LEO
Home is where the heart is, Leo, and for the next three weeks, your stars are giving you the energy to improve and enlarge your inner sense of belonging. Mars, the planet of energy and action, is lighting up your House of Home and Family, highlighting ego conflicts or issues from the past, and illuminating long-standing patterns that can support you, or those that must be demolished in order for you to move forward more powerfully. It's an ideal time to put your shoulder into domestic projects, or even working from your home. This aspect brings a great deal of energy that can bubble up into conflict when not properly channeled. Mars is making quite a lucky angle with generous Jupiter in your House of Money and Values, indicating that your efforts to improve yourself, your hearth and your foundation will result in tangible rewards. Start your renovation!
VIRGO
As you speak, so shall you find, Virgo. I know, your nitpicking meter just went nuts with the inaccuracy of that quote. Yet, your stars say that despite its shoddy wording, it's true, nonetheless. Mars, the planet of energy and action, is rushing through your House of Communication, inspiring conversations, meetings, debates, and conflicts. For the next three weeks, you identify even more strongly than usual with what you say and believe. Disagreement or (heavens forbid) correction will seem like personal affronts now. Although arguments are very possible under this energy, if you can avoid getting your feelings mixed up in the matter, you're able to persuade others of your way of thinking now. Your words have tremendous power, and your stars say that your willingness to start inspiring dialogues create long-term opportunities. Speak softly, and leave the big stick at home. You won't need it.
LIBRA
You're incredibly resourceful at the moment, Libra, and if you play your cards right, you're in a prime position to improve your station in life. Mars, the planet of energy and action, is charging up your House of Money and Values, increasing both your ambition and desire to acquire, along with your urge to spend. Right now, you identify strongly with what you own, as well as what you don't, so there could be the danger of equating your personal worth with your net worth. Please, avoid this superficial analysis, and make the most of this energy by considering what you truly value. Once you've determined that, put your shoulder into bringing more of it into your life. The work that you do now is forecast to bring your more money and opportunity than usual, and you get major bonus points when those goals are aligned with your personal mission statement. Don't have one? Start brainstorming. Your stars forecast record returns for your internal investments.
SCORPIO
It's all about you for the next three weeks, Scorpio, so go ahead and invest shamelessly in furthering your personal goals and agendas now. Mars, the planet of energy and action, will be powering up your House of Self for three more weeks, before he moves on to focus on your finances in early March. Your stars are inspiring you to act vigorously in the name of your own aims — you may find that you have to defend yourself or your ideas now, or at least, that you assert yourself with much more explosive energy than usual. This is a great time to throw yourself into personal projects, but not as easy a time to work with others. (You tend to steamroll them right now, intentionally or not.) Your independence, energy, and motivation are all tremendously improved now, so go forth and conquer! Remember, that's goals and milestones, not governments and countries — you're as capable of overthrowing as you are over-achieving, right now.
SAGITTARIUS
You're a born explorer and learner, Sagittarius, with an unquenchable thirst for new frontiers and insights. Have you considered that you've left some internal journeys un-tested? Mars, the planet of energy and action, is charging through your House of Secrets and the Past for three more weeks, bringing up unconscious patterns, distant memories, and unseen obstacles for you to understand, and move past. While you're always ready for an exciting trip to an unknown destination, your stars are asking you to turn that wanderlust inward, and seek the source of your personal power. Hint: repressed energies can either bubble up as irritability, insomnia, and frustrated inaction, or they can be consciously accessed and transformed into fuel for future endeavors. This week, go inward, and become your newest exotic destination. Discover yourself, and be reborn.
CAPRICORN
You're a resourceful and canny soul by nature, Capricorn, but your stars say that you need to focus on a vast sector of untapped potential: your brilliant friends and allies. Yes, it may sound Machiavellian to some, but to a utilitarian sort like you, it makes perfect sense — you're surrounded by the kind of people that can meet your stratospheric standards, so why wouldn't you make use of their diverse, dynamic skills? Mars, the planet of self, energy, and action, is charging up your House of Allies and Organizations, highlighting your need to commit individual action to long-term, group goals. It's time to coordinate your needs with others, in order to create something greater than the sum of its parts, something that will pay big dividends for honest investments. It's an ideal time to find personal gratification by helping to manifest that same fulfillment for others. Put your heads together.
AQUARIUS
You may identify strongly with being aloof, Aquarius. Your cool-headed, even dispassionate attitude is one of your hallmarks. Yet right now, something very hot is bubbling up inside you, demanding your immediate attention and action. The unstoppable momentum of Mars is driving you to channel your ambition, your urge to achieve. The planet of energy and action is charging through your House of Career and Destiny for three more weeks, inspiring you to gain more independence and authority, even if it means conflicts with employers, officials, or other higher-ups.This energy can give you great energy to make enormous progress toward your highest goals and interests — especially those that set you on the road toward greater self-sufficiency and satisfaction. Self-employment, anyone? The iron will not be hotter, Aquarius. Strike now!
PISCES
You're known as the daydreamer of the zodiac, Pisces, and not for nothing. Things like art, music, philosophy, and feelings have a way of transporting you to other worlds — and you have the same ability to move others. It's one of your greatest gifts. Mars, the planet of the energy and action, is careening through your House of Journeys and Philosophy for three more weeks, attracting you to new destinations, mental, emotional, and geographical. New ideas excite you now, and it's an ideal time to expand your mind. Unexpected opportunities arise, and there is even potential for sudden travel or an invitation to share your thoughts with a larger audience. Whether you find yourself teaching, traveling, or training new hires, your way of thinking is set to change your course, and bring about fortunate encounters.

February 7 - New Moon in Aquarius - You Say You Want a Revolution
"The Star" by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law |
New Moon in Aquarius
Sun Conjunct Moon
When the sky goes dark, and the intuitive moon leaves us in silence and fertile shadow until dawn, our stars offer us a new beginning. A chance to recognize and shed heavy burdens, and consciously cultivate new evolutions. When the Moon is new, she links up with her equal and opposite, the Sun, illuminating what we may have tried to bury. When they ride together, these luminaries of the zodiac unite our conscious drives and unconscious desires, allowing what we do to follow what we feel.
When the planet of unconscious being and the star of conscious action unite, we are offered a rare and powerful window of opportunity for transformative change. This aspect, Sun Conjunct Moon, heralds a new four-week cycle, so it's an ideal time to commit to self-improvement routines, begin new projects or re-commit to them, and lay the groundwork for long term goals.
With this conjunction in revolutionary, future-oriented Aquarius, we are inspired to break free and be original, setting ourselves apart by being inventive. We recognize that change is progress is evolution. "Be the change you wish to see in the world." It's a time to begin new things, to follow your restless heart, and to plant seeds that bring you closer to your ideal self.
Yet this change cannot be purely intellectual or aspirational, as air sign Aquarius can be — we must recognize that external circumstances are the reflection of our inner evolution. Quitting our job will not cure an inner lack of direction, just as dating for the sake of dating will not cure internal loneliness. We must get in touch with our authentic self in order to become the best version of it.
During this New Moon cycle, Aquarius' ruler, Uranus, links up with the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto. Radical change is afoot, when it comes to our personality (Sun), emotions (Moon), thoughts and words (Mercury), desires (Venus), energy and actions (Mars), and even our spiritual evolution (the slower moving outer planets).
Classically, Aquarius was ruled by stern but visionary Saturn, but when wobbly Uranus and his erratic orbit was observed, he made a perfect updated ruler for the offbeat Water Bearer.
Serious Saturn, the prince of the tangible rewards for hard work, is currently making a very friendly angle with radical Uranus, the planet of rebels-with-a-cause, indicating that our long-term vision, seemingly impossible or global as it may be, actually has potential to become manifest in the material world, when we are willing to put in the hard work.
“If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.”
Meanwhile, generous Jupiter, the planet of spiritual evolution, fortune and growth, is in cahoots with potent Pluto, the planet of death, rebirth and transformation, indicating that part of this New Moon's magic is the increased ability to rid ourselves of self-destructive or limiting habits.
This New Moon, Aquarius, the sign of the alchemist, invites you to start a rebellion-with-a-cause in your own life. This is potentially a time of great invention, advocacy, and positive change. Trust your instincts, and don't be afraid to dynamite holy altars that block your spiritual understanding more than support it.
Put convention, codependency, and fear-based decisions on a mental raft, and give them a viking funeral. The Water Bearer will see that they are borne far away, their retreating flames dancing in the cleansing shadow of the New Moon.

Written in the Stars - Week of February 5
Venus Conjunct Pluto
When the goddess of love and pleasure is enveloped by the god of power and persuasion, our cravings intensify, and we seek only the most potent ideas and interactions.
Venus is genteel and indulgent, and Pluto is shrewd and possessive, always seeking control. You may find yourself embroiled in a passionate affair, whether with a partner or a plan. Beware of jealousy and greed, because obsession is a hallmark of this energy. You may be tempted to manipulate others with your feelings now, but using love as a weapon wounds both parties.
To make the best of this torrid aspect, go a little love-mad behind closed doors. Throw yourself into something (or someone) that you can't get enough of, and shock yourself with what you can create. Whether you make art or make love, let the transformation you undergo come from your heart and your will, as one, and not apart.
ARIES
You're doing a fine job of adapting your routine to handle surprising circumstances, Aries, and your quick-on-the-uptake style is forecast to be appreciated by some powerful figures this week. Charming Venus has snuggled up to powerful Pluto in your House of Career and Destiny, creating the potential for important new connections. It's up to you to decide if, under your leadership, this is a friendly merger or a hostile takeover. The temptation to manipulate, cajole and control abounds under this energy, but if you can keep everything aboveboard, your charm and confidence make a devastatingly persuasive combination. It's an ideal time to reach out to potential mentors, partners or investors who can help you step up your game, especially in the creative realm. Your stars say you're well on your way!
TAURUS
You're falling in love with ideas this week, Taurus, and the passion you feel for them is formidable. What you invest your passion and persuasive perseverance into is forecast to take you on exciting adventures, perhaps even literal journeys. Voluptuous Venus has snuggled up to powerful Pluto in your House of Journeys and Philosophy, creating an obsessive desire to expand your awareness, influence, and ideas. Pluto moves slowly and effectively, taking years to finish his journey through each astrological House — he's been helping you transform your way of thinking and sharing with others for the last two years, and he'll continue to do so through 2016. This is an ideal time to share your ideas with powerful figures and higher-ups — if you've been waiting to make a pitch, apply for a transfer, or request grants, make your move. Just don't threaten, manipulate or cajole — this is very "Godfather" energy, and no one wants a horse head in their bed.
GEMINI
You're universally recognized as a master of the intellectual realm, Gemini, knowing a little bit about a lot. "Jack of all trades, master of none." What you're not normally known for is your intense devotion and depth — but you're going to be showing off a whole other side of yourself now. Voluptuous Venus and powerful Pluto have shacked up in Your House of Intimacy and the Other, creating an intense desire to get to the truth of things, and to embrace change where you see the potential for huge improvement. Pluto takes years to traverse one House, so he's been digging up your foundation for a while, but sweet Venus' presence brings charm, pleasure, and gifts to this House for the next few weeks. Things may heat up with your partner, or you could meet someone who sets you on fire — this is also the House of Sex and Other People's Money. You could receive some great assistance at this time, financial or otherwise, from powerful figures. Be careful that you neither manipulate, nor allow yourself to be manipulated. Power plays are forecast.
CANCER
It's a time of significant encounters for you, Cancer, so keep your eyes peeled. Charming Venus has snuggled up to powerful Pluto in your House of Partnerships this week, indicating profound and potentially profitable one-on-one interactions. This time has great potential for positive change, especially when you work with a partner, whether they be in the professional, creative or romantic realm. You have a great way of persuading others to see things your way under this aspect; just be careful not to use your empathic powers to manipulate, cajole, or otherwise attempt to control others. Power plays are very possible under this energy, so keep things simple and aboveboard. Consider what is working well for you in your close partnerships, and what is not. This is an ideal time to set intentions to improve your closest relations — which, of course, improves your relationship with your Self.
LEO
It's no secret that a great deal of your power comes from your personal magnetism, Leo, which exudes in direct correlation with how strong you feel inside. Right now, you can use your natural skills of attraction to bring profoundly helpful change into your daily life. Charming Venus has joined powerful Pluto in your House of Work and Routine, bringing a touch of laziness or self-obsession to your daily habits. Now I've wounded your pride, haven't I? But this isn't an insult. Venus' energy is beneficial and pleasurable to be sure, but not what you'd call enterprising. If you feel the urge to take up yoga, redecorate your home, or organize your clutter rather than spending overtime at work or nailing down details, indulge in that instinct. You could also receive some notoriety and benefits for your personal style at work now. Keep your feet on the ground, certainly, but keep your head where it is — the view from the clouds is highly underrated.
VIRGO
Powerful creative potential is afoot, Virgo, if you're willing to embrace dramatic change to enjoy it. Voluptuous Venus has snuggled up to powerful Pluto in your House of Creativity, Romance and Play, inspiring an obsessive desire to enjoy extremes — doesn't sound very Virgo, does it? Well, you have probably been shocking others for the last year or two, as potent Pluto works slowly and effectively, taking years at a time to move through each astrological House. Venus blesses you with extra charm, joy, and unfettered expression in this House, and when she works with transformative Pluto, the effect could be much more powerful than you expect. Existing relationships and creative projects grow more passionate, and new ones explode onto the scene under this energy. A word of caution: Don't attempt to manipulate, control or cajole others to get your way. Pluto's power can build impressively, but it can also destroy utterly. Put your energy into creating.
LIBRA
You have a good eye, Libra, and you've probably heard that compliment more than once in your life. You have a natural flair for design, color, balance, a gift from your planetary ruler, charming Venus. She's just been hired as a consultant by powerful Pluto on a huge remodeling project: Your House of Home and Family. Pluto has been digging up your floors, bringing up memories, programming and issues from your childhood and family for your perusal. "Do you still need this? Or is it just a flaw in the foundation?" Venus has a sweeter bedside manner. "Do you know, this would look fabulous framed over your mantle? It'd be a shame to hide it in that dark, musty basement." Extended metaphors aside, you're granted a chance to renovate your hearth and home on a deep level for the next few weeks. Some of what comes up may be faded, dirty, or something you need to throw away, but some if it will benefit you when you honor its purpose and place. This illuminating change is forecast to be quite beneficial — you may even find a way to make money from your home, just enjoy it more, as it better fits your current stage of evolution.
SCORPIO
We all know you have a reputation for coming off as intense, Scorpio. But with your planetary ruler, potent Pluto dictating from your House of Communications for the last two years or so, you've become a downright power player. There's been an evolution in your way of thinking and communicating, and you're considering topics and options that are "on another level." This week, sweet Venus has joined Pluto, adding some charm and diplomacy to your otherwise intense interactions. It's a good time to network, get your words out, and vice versa. Your mind craves art, music, and interesting information now, and you are what you consume. This energy is meant to help you understand, enjoy and relate to others better, and help them relate to you — the better to enjoy your revolutionary ideas. Put yourself "out there" without trying to control the outcome. Your stars say you'll surprise yourself.
SAGITTARIUS
Break out the pinstripes and read a quick article on ethics in business, Sagittarius, because you are pretty much the "Godfather" himself, this week. Powerful Pluto has been demolishing and rebuilding your House of Money and Values for the last couple of years, making huge changes to your finances and resources, and/or the way you look at them. This week, he's been joined by voluptuous Venus, who brings a pleasurable energy to this House, making you long for objects and comforts that bring you joy. When these planets get together, there's great potential for financial success, particularly if you're an independent agent, working for yourself, or earning money through commissions. You have an almost magical ability to persuade others now, but resist the urge to manipulate or cajole others to achieve your ends. You can most likely achieve the same result by keeping things aboveboard, anyway. Unexpected rewards, bonuses, and gifts are common under this energy. Enjoy (ethically)!
CAPRICORN
Oh, I beg you to use your powers for good this week, Capricorn, because there is enormous potential coursing through your chart. Powerful Pluto has been storming through your House of Self for the past couple of years, making you come face to face with the forces that have shaped your personality, and in part, made you what you are. This can be extremely difficult to endure, but it is truly a gift from your stars, because it allows you to become conscious of that which has controlled you without your knowledge (Pluto's specialty). This week, sweet Venus has snuggled up to him, imbuing you with charm, luck and receptivity — meaning you won't have to ask loudly or look far before others offer to help you. (Charming but lazy Venus has a way of bringing the good life to herself.) Above all, refuse to manipulate, cajole, or attempt to control others. Those connections have a short shelf-life, and you want this good stuff to last.
AQUARIUS
You've been facing fears and dealing with old enemies for a while now, Aquarius, even those that are long gone. Pluto, the planet of power and transformation, has been digging up graves in your House of Secrets and the Past for the last few years, bringing you face to face with aspects of yourself and your past that you may not otherwise have wanted to examine. This hasn't always been easy, but it's an opportunity from your stars to recognize that which is ready to be released in order to evolve. This week, sweet Venus has snuggled up to potent Pluto, softening his outlook and increasing his sensitivity. It's an ideal week to be kinder to others, and to yourself. Make time for self-care this week, and be patient. When you heal conflicts that come up now with patience, huge satisfaction and rewards are forecast.
PISCES
How vital to you are the connections in your life, Pisces? Do you have a network that supports, energizes, and inspires you? If so, you'll be getting even more pleasure and evolution out of them than usual, this week. If not, it's an ideal time to find and cultivate friendships that suit your current interests and goals. Pluto, the planet of power and transformation, has been renovating your House of Allies and Organizations, AKA the House of Long Term Goals (those which can only be reached with the help of a devoted network.) This week, charming Venus has snuggled up to him, increasing your popularity, and your odds of beneficial encounters that can lead to long-term success. Together, these planets create an obsessive desire to achieve personal goals — if you strike while the iron is hot, you can tap into this inspiring energy to make incredible progress now.

Written in the Stars - Week of January 25
Jupiter in Retrograde in Virgo
When the planet of spirituality, growth and good fortune appears to move in reverse from our earthly perspective, our efforts to broaden our horizons turn inward. We become more introspective, and it's an ideal time to reflect on ways in which you would like to grow. Generous Jupiter's influence always inspires us to be the "bigger" person, which usually comes after we've sorted through our feelings and decided we can rise above small-minded ways.
Retrograde periods are often noted and feared, even by those who don't study or follow astrology. However, they've gotten a bad rap. Retrogrades are actually a great time for all your "re-" needs. Need to review, reflect, reassess, renovate, re-think, re-try, re-configure? Now is the time to fill in pot holes so that your road is smoother down the line — where could your efforts to grow be improved? Don't leap ahead. When Jupiter slows down and forces us to retrace our steps, it's because the area of growth we are currently working on is incredibly important.
In the sign of studious, service-oriented Virgo, Jupiter retrograde teaches us about self-control, delayed gratification, and the spiritual lesson that not only it is better to give than to receive — but that it's truly in giving that we find out how much we have. You're being offered the chance at some cosmic do-overs between now and May 9 — there is a karmic test to be passed in order to fully enjoy our good fortune, success and abundance.
Seeds planted in the past may come to fruition in a few months, or you may have a second chance at significant encounters. To see where you'll be feeling Jupiter's giant influence the most, read on...
I know how you hate to be told to slow down, Aries, especially when it comes to meeting far-reaching goals and defeating your potential competitors. But Jupiter, the generous giant of the zodiac, has started moonwalking through your House of Work and Routine, asking you to re-think your work habits, schedule and physical health. Slow down; take stock. Your stars say you're aiming high, and they're offering you this cosmic pause button, not to annoy you, but to better prepare you for the massive level-up ahead. What adjustments can you make to your efforts now, so that they play out best later? Pluto, the planet of power, influence and transformation, is still charging up your House of Career and Destiny, and making a very lucky angle with joyful Jupiter, indicating that the explorations and revisions you allow yourself to dive into now will have far-reaching implications. Hint: The steps ARE the journey. Step slowly and surely.
TAURUS
I know how much you love structure, Taurus, but does the structure of your life allow for your full range of desires, your full potential for creativity and freedom, to be met? Jupiter, the spiritual seeker of the zodiac, is retracing his steps in your House of Creativity, Romance and Play for the next three months, indicating that you have major personal and financial rewards coming down the pipeline, if you're willing to get in better tune with yourself, your innate talents, and your desires — especially as opposed to your firmer goals. I'm not asking what you want to achieve, but just what you want. What are some creative, artistic, or just joyful activities you could reinvigorate or repair? Give yourself the mental room to breathe and just daydream about what you desire — your stars forecast romance, far-reaching journeys and adventures as the result. What do you dare to dream?
GEMINI
Over the next three months, Gemini, you'll have the chance to do some spring cleaning of the highest order, and your stars say you invite luck, growth, abundance, and adventure if you take the challenge. Jupiter, the spiritual benefactor of the zodiac, is moonwalking through your House of Home, encouraging you to examine your roots, family, house, and foundation, to see how this sector of your life can be improved. It has, no doubt, grown in the last year, whether you had a child, invited a family member to move in, or had a literal addition put on your house. But things have been moving quite quickly, and now generous Jupiter is giving you some breathing space to slow down, and really take stock of the direction you're moving in. He promises greater fulfillment, intimacy and support down the line when you put conscious focus into improving what you already have, and addressing any issues, rather than striving to go further and faster. Whether you're smoothing out old family issues or doing an actual renovation on your home or business, Jupiter asks you to strengthen your foundation in order to reach even further. By May 9, you'll be on your way to much bigger and better things. Pace yourself!
CANCER
When you speak, others tend to listen, Cancer, because you nearly always speak from the heart. Your words have been magnified and transmitted by giant Jupiter, who's been shouting from the rooftops in your House of Communications, since last fall. Now, as he has begun to drive in reverse, he asks you to slow down and focus. Have you had so many ideas and interactions lately that it's hard to keep all these inspirations in your head long enough to commit them to paper (or screen)? It's time to edit more, and write less. Have you been inspired to take up a new study, and thrown yourself into classes and seminars, but find yourself overwhelmed or anxious? Your stars say that all these connections you've made are quite important, so he's asking you to pace yourself, consult your goals — are your actions in line with them? If not, it's a perfect time to re-orient yourself, and possibly prune your calendar. Expect a big level up in your education, communication or important connections by the time May rolls around — until then, turn inward, and focus on the building blocks to get there.
LEO
It's been quite a productive few months for you, Leo, and your stars acknowledge a massive level up in the realm of your skills, money, and values — you've been honing your skills and working to improve this sector, and there's more gains to come. Giant Jupiter has been blessing your House of Money and Values since last year, and he'll continue to, through September. But for the next three months, he's moving backward through that House, asking you to slow down, pace yourself, and make sure that your actions are still aligned with your goals and ideals. It's possible that you've been developing your talents in order to parlay them into your work — whether you're writing, painting, building or coding, you want to make something of your own, and make your living that way. After May 9, the generous benefactor of the zodiac will begin moving forward again, increasing your financial potential and the joy that comes with it. For now, focus on making sure everything is set up for your success. Soon, it will be time to make a great leap forward.
VIRGO
Once every twelve years, Virgo, each sign is granted a mystical power that last for about a year — when giant and generous Jupiter lights up your House of Self, you have the power to grow far beyond previous boundaries, the ability to spread your influence far and wide, and meet your "biggest" goals. He'll be riding there until September, but from now through May 9, he's retracing his steps, making his lists and checking them twice (you can relate), and asking you to make sure that you aren't getting "ahead of yourself." When Jupiter is in retrograde, he asks us to go within for personal growth, rather than seeking it through external events or relationships. This is an ideal time to renovate your plans for a "fresh start." Things are going to move fast, and and are forecast to grow beyond your wildest dreams in three months — make sure your seeds are chosen carefully, planted firmly, and nourished properly — because they will undoubtedly come to fruition.
LIBRA
You may feel it in the way that the earth occasionally seems to tremble beneath your feet, Libra, sending subtle waves up your body, into your heart and mind: You're being readied for an enormous level-up. Jupiter, the planet of growth and expansion, has turned on his heels in your House of Secrets and the Past. Jupiter only goes retrograde when there's something over your shoulder worth looking at — "We may be through with the past, but the past is not through with us." This is a time of endings — Jupiter ensures that they are nearly always happy ones — it's an ideal time to throw away everything that no longer serves you. De-clutter your heart and mind by tossing out self-destructive tendencies, useless guilt, and attachments that make you feel more bound than buoyed. It's time to turn inward, to examine the ways in which your past has held you back, and to confront your fears. See them for what they are — not monsters to hide from, but ghosts to be acknowledged, understood, and released. What you work on in private now is set to have tremendous returns. Solitude and study suit you now. By September, when generous Jupiter moves into your House of Self, you'll be a bigger, better you.
SCORPIO
You've been going through some major transformations over the last year, Scorpio, and have had a lot of opportunities to expand your sphere of influence, which in turn, affects your long term goals and future offers. Networking remains key this year as Jupiter continues his trek through your House of Allies and Organizations until September. However, he'll be moonwalking through it until May 9, encouraging you to slow down, rein in some of that social energy, and re-orient yourself. Do your current actions, and your current social calendar, sync up with your highest aspirations? This is also the House of Long Term Goals, and generous Jupiter is giving you this cosmic timeout so that you can see where repairs can be made, and whether certain connections are still serving you. Your social circle may contract somewhat under this energy, and that won't be a negative thing. When Jupiter removes anything from your life, it is only to fill that space with something much grander, and fitting of your current level. Focus on yourself and your goals now — you'll be ready to hit the ground running, come May.
SAGITTARIUS
Big, big things have been happening for you lately, Sagittarius, and it isn't surprising, with your ruler, giant and generous Jupiter lighting up your House of Career and Destiny until September. This energy leads to getting recognized by powerful figures who can help you rise to the next level, and helps you positively expand your sense of your own power and station. However, Jupiter is spinning backwards until May 9, asking you to pause, slow down, and re-think when it comes to your life purpose, reputation, and goals. Have you gotten ahead of yourself in any way, or perhaps promised more than you could deliver? It's very possible to bite off more than you can chew when positive, ebullient Jupiter is riding high, but he's offering you a cosmic slow-mo rewind, so you can see where you may have gotten off-track, or simply where you could polish up your approach. Major publicity for your projects is forecast to roll around in May and the months thereafter, so take your time, and do things right. Create, or become, something you can be proud of.
CAPRICORN
There's a wide audience for what you're offering, Capricorn, but to reach them, you must — ironically — narrow your focus for the next three months. Generous Jupiter has gone retrograde in your House of Journeys and Philosophy — over the last year, he's been helping you see where you must expand and grow, and break free from limiting circumstances and thought processes. You may be leaving an ill-fitting job or relationship now, and when Jupiter rules the endings, they are certain to be happy ones. Your stars are readying you for a breakout role, but in the sign of precise Virgo, Jupiter helps you reach visionary goals when you are practical, productive and detail-oriented about them. Between now and May 9, Jupiter asks you to slow down and consider what ideas you want to share, what you want to learn and teach — because your stars say it's an ideal time to re-orient your direction when it comes to your education and mind-expanding activities of all kinds. Success and even fame are forecast when you're willing to put your nose to the grindstone and polish your ideas.
AQUARIUS
You've been handed a treasure map, Aquarius, and you'd be well advised to follow it closely, and chart your course by the stars. Jupiter, the planet of growth, abundance, and joy, has been lighting up your House of Intimacy and The Other since last year, bringing warmth, expansion, and good luck to you via your intimate relationships, shared resources, and willingness to transform. Now, the generous giant has turned backward, slowing growth in this area down, the better for you to focus on what truly matters, and what is befitting of your internal evolution. You may find that certain resources or relationships drop away during this time, but when Jupiter ends something, it's more absolution than abject despair. What you lose will only be burdens that have outlived their usefulness, if you're willing to be honest with yourself and continue this magnificent transformation you're undergoing. What you lose only makes room for the bigger, better, warmer, more spiritually satisfying things coming down the pipeline. By May 9, when he goes direct again, you'll start to see the rewards for your willingness to "go deep" and evolve with the changing path of your life.
PISCES
It's no secret that you long for the support of loving partners, Pisces. But you're not easy to please, for you crave a real connection — something deep, lasting, and ideally, spiritual in nature. Generous Jupiter has been lighting up your House of Partnerships since last August, bringing warmth, positivity, and transcendence to your closest one-on-one interactions. Now, Jupiter has started moonwalking, and he'll be looking over his shoulder until May 9. When Jupiter slows down and retraces his steps, it's because we're meant to focus on a particular area of growth that is incredibly important at this moment. Outward growth turns inward. In what ways are your current partners fulfilling you, or not? And what is your role in that dynamic? Examine your expectations in relationships — are they reasonable? Are your standards too low? Too high? A better understanding of yourself and your needs, and therefore much more satisfying relationships, are forecast once May rolls around. Emotional, creative, and financial rewards are forecast. Set yourself up for success.
